The suburbs make the hood look good.
A streetwise man flees South Central Los Angeles heading to the suburbs and his lottery-winner uncle and cousin to avoid a neighborhood thug with a grudge who has just escaped from prison. But trouble soon follows and the suburbs will never be the same.

<em>'Next Friday'</em> disappoints, which isn't a surprise given the absence of Chris Tucker. The first film worked because of the two lead actors, so taking out one (esp. Tucker) was always going to make a sequel fall flat; especially without finding an adequate replacement. Ice Cube is OK and is the best part, if only via a process of elimination.
