Lal Kajal Synopsis

Directed by Matin Rahman, the 1982 Bangladeshi social drama Lal Kajal follows the deeply emotional journey of Fuljan (Shabana), a poor rural woman burdened by the heavy societal stigma of infertility. After her first marriage collapses due to her inability to bear children, she finds brief solace with her second husband, Badsha (Farooque), but his sudden and untimely death leaves her destitute and entirely alone.
