Public Enemy Synopsis

Attorney Tengis, after receiving an ethical disciplinary sanction, takes on the defense of a criminal accused of murdering a young child in a case that has outraged the public. Doubting his client’s mental state, Tengis requests a postponement of the trial, triggering public suspicion and pushing social outrage to the extreme. Eventually, the lawyer himself becomes a public enemy. But the situation grows even more complicated. When the accused reveals that he confessed to a crime he did not commit, Tengis faces a new reality in which he must clear the defendant’s name before society. Yet if either of them tells the truth, they may no longer be able to survive.
