This is actually quite a surprisingly different version of the American "coming of age" gay film. We get all the usual athletic, pretty, boy meets boy in the closet thing; but the storyline veers off onto a much more empowering and joyous track. No bad language, drugs - not even really any romance. There isn't a specifically happy ending for our hero - it's just a chapter in the lives of these gay (and straight)…

This was a pretty good movie, although it seemed like the actors were older than the high school students they were playing, it was a well told story. The end was a happy, humourous, one - maybe not a romantic one, but still good.
