Deep Impact Synopsis

A seven-mile-wide space rock is hurtling toward Earth, threatening to obliterate the planet. Now, it's up to the president of the United States to save the world. He appoints a tough-as-nails veteran astronaut to lead a joint American-Russian crew into space to destroy the comet before impact. Meanwhile, an enterprising reporter uses her smarts to uncover the scoop of the century.

I was really disappointed, considering all of the great actors involved and since I love science fiction and the great disaster films of days gone by. I bought the DVD used and got my money's worth--it's a decent watch. I would recommend watching if you like disaster movies or any of the actors involved, maybe even renting or buying the DVD used or for a really good price new, say for 5 bucks, but anything more…

Not your typical disaster movie. In my mind this was far better than Armageddon, which came out about the same time. Instead focusing on chaos and selfishness this movie gave us a positive portrayal of people dealing with an unthinkable tragedy. I found it to be realistic and hopeful.
