This is a story set in 1990 about a closeted gay guy who agrees to join the Marines with his straight best friend, and yes the friend knows that he's gay. To be honest, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. They were able to weave in a lot of human elements against the boot camp training and by the time the series ended, you started to really feel for some of the characters.
